Patina Miller

Patina Patina PatinaMiller took on the title role in Stephen Schwartz's 1972 Broadway musical "Pippin". "Pippin" was created by Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin" in addition to featured Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the Other stars. Patina did a great job of putting a modern version of a role that was created by award-winning actor Ben Vereen and mastered the Fosse moves that the production relies so heavily on. The performance of Patina earned her an Tony Award in the category of Best Actress, Lead Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was awarded to her for Outstanding Actress. The actress previously played the role of Leading Player in the American Repertory Theater production of "Pippin" in the month of December 2012 through January 2013. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
